What is Morton’s Neuroma?

This is a common benign tumor of the foot caused by a small nerve pinched or trapped between two metatarsal bones. Symptoms can include burning, tingling and numbness usually between the third and fourth or second and third toes. Cramping can also occur and can feel as if you have stepped on a lamp cord or your sock is bunched up. One usually takes off their shoe and rubs or massages the area to alleviate the symptoms. Treatments can include orthotics, injections with physical therapy or oral anti-inflammatories. A minimally invasive correction lasting only a couple of moments is also available.
